LLOYDS BANKING GROUP SCREEN SCRAPING PLUS (DIRECT ACCESS) – SUMMARY GUIDE

WHAT IS SCREEN SCRAPING PLUS?

From 14th March 2020, Screen Scraping will no longer be available for all Account Types and Brands

In order for TPPs to access customer data and carry out Account Information Services (AIS) and/or Payments Initiation Services (PIS) on LBG accounts, APIs or the new Screen Scraping Plus+ (SS+) interface must be used.

LBG has approved exemptions for Halifax, Lloyds, Bank of Scotland and MBNA however to support migration to APIs, Screen Scraping plus will be offered from 14th March to 13th June 2020. From 13th June, access to Halifax, Lloyds, Bank of Scotland and MBNA will be available via APIs only. Note APIs give access to PSR account types only.

IMPORTANT REMINDER – SCA will apply to the SS+ interface across all Account Types (PSR & non PSR*). Any logon without the necessary authentication factors will be blocked.

*Non-PSR accounts include Loans, Mortgages, BCOBS Savings Accounts, Pensions, and Investments.

Screen Scraping Plus (SS+) is available to TPPs for the LBG brands described in section 2. In summary, to use the SS+ interface TPPs will need to:

  1. Gain authorisation with the relevant National Competent Authority.
  2. Obtain a valid security certificate
  3. Present and identify themselves with the security certificate at the point of SS+ access.

TESTING OF NEW SS+ INTERFACE

Authorised TPPs who have obtained a valid security certificate will be able to test the authentication journey by presenting the certificate at the time of accessing one of the in scope sites above. TPPs can be provided with dummy test accounts in order to carry out their SS+ connectivity and functional testing.

TPPs who are in process of obtaining relevant authorisation to carry out Payment Initiation services and/or Account Information services, will also have the option to test the new Screen Scraping Plus interface on the above mentioned websites subject to evidence of pending authorisation.

Following are the key steps for carrying out testing of new SS+ interface:

  1. Request a test account for a given website by sending a request to

    obresponseteam@lloydsbanking.com>
  2. TPP will then receive an application form from Lloyds Banking group requesting further details in order to proceed ahead with the test account creation.
